The bot chest may not tab in as well if the bottom hinge doesn't come out enough to give it A nice pick up that I’m sure with be overshadowed by the studio series release. Again I feel like I got my money’s worth (this is on par with Kingdom primal so complaining about the price would translate that to some of Kingdom voyagers too), but I can see why people would want this to be lower priced. I still think these mainline voyagers should have been closer to $29.99 than the price of a generations Voyager just to make that opportunity cost debate more fair. With that being said, I am really surprised that prime’s thread had so much shade thrown at him even though I prefer him to primal and over here it’s basically the opposite. Overall I still like it and don’t regret buying it for the MSRP. Prime feels like a rock, primal doesn’t feel as solid. Also mine has two ever so slightly annoying bits: the robot chest tends to untab in robot mode a little too easily and one of the knee ratchet joints don’t ratchet at all. With this mainline I don’t really like how it looks standing on just his two feet (does look best on all fours tho). I do prefer the Kingdom mold slightly more due to it being able to pull off both the quadruped and 2 legged gorilla. I guess I don’t find primal’s transformation scheme that enjoyable. I’m not having as much fun with this one compared to the Optimus Prime mainline Voyager. He was wicked deep knee bend and both buttflaps can move to allow full wait swivel, sadly he doesn't have a flight stand port, missed opportunity IMOĬan pass the Superman test with flying colors. In the trailers he seems to connect them like a staff, which you can kinda emulate if you put them in his fists the right way. And the way the robot chest folds out from behind the ape chest and overtakes it is cool and unlike anything I've seen on another figure. His transformation is Primal stock standard, highlights are having the feet hiding away in the shins, something not even the MP could do. He has some silver here and there, like his toes, back and swords. He has a nice mosaic of mechanical detail and fur creating a "biomechanical" look that I'm not totally opposed to. Picked up Primal today (they had Op too but me and mom agreed he'd be better on clearance).įirst things first, there is no denying that he is VERY gray, there is a lot of sculpted detail but it kinda gets lost. They're also listing Earthspark wave 2 deluxes at $24.99 with no discount…although I highly doubt they'll ever list for that price in-store. They are charging the same on their website for Generations and the Core Deluxes. Target admittedly may not be the best to use as an example currently. I've seen some pricing increases on the cheaper stuff IRL but not more than a dollar at Meijer or Target. Their most recent deluxe cases have also been around $200 as well ($197 for Core Deluxe, $199 for SS Deluxe). That's why I compared to the most recent SS Voyager case on RK, which is the same pricing. Amazon’s prices are all over the place (some items MSRP, some with the higher pricing seen at most physical retailers).Ī Target page for Core Deluxe Bumblebee has their price at $22.99, between the Earthspark deluxe and Generations Deluxe.īut we won’t know Hasbro’s MSRP on the Core line until they eventually let retailers like Entertainment Earth actually post orders. MSRP on the Battle Changers is $9.99 (Entertainment Earth’s pricing), most mainline retailers are selling them for $11.99. Robot Kingdom is also an overseas distributor, and there is still variation between some of their case offering prices.īut my broad point was that retailers have seemingly “marked up” a good number of the Rise of the Beasts products, compared to Hasbro’s MSRP.
